Shady Oak Pub to Christleton

Friday 10th August

We didn't have far to go today so set off late morning. It was raining! John set off with Dex for his walk and I was steering.
I passed this artists boat who was taking commissions. Her work was brilliant.
We passed the Bluesman boat which belonged to the friends we got chatting to in the pub yesterday.

 Then past the Shady Oak.
It was really pouring it down now!

I took shelter as soon as John got back on the boat and he took over steering. I was wet through so went to change and put the heating on! This is more like the British Summers we are used to! 😀
Finally the sun came out again.

We passed Steve and Andree who had moored further along.

Some moorhens were nesting on this weed island.
The houses were getting smarter so we guessed we were getting nearer to Christleton!

Soon we arrived and found a mooring spot near the Cheshire Cat (which is also a Innkeepers hotel)

That evening we met Kay and David in the Ring of Bells for dinner which was delicious and they very kindly treated us. They came on board after for coffee. A lovely evening.
