John moved the car to Norbury junction and started walking back with Dex. I set off alone. It was overcast again but not raining.
The sky looks dark and dramatic! Just hope it doesn't rain!
As I came through this narrow cutting I could hardly believe what was happening. A boat was coming towards me but that was ok as wide enough for 2 boats to pass. But then another boat started overtaking and was on the wrong side of the canal heading straight towards me!
They managed to get through the gap but only because I took all the power off. It was a hire boat and a really stupid thing to do. It turned out that the boat they overtook belonged to our friend Gary. He was rightly angry and they wanted to report him to the hire boat company.
They carried on their way.
I picked John and Dex up along the way.
How cute!
This boat was clearly having a good celebration!
The scary haunted bridge!
Kermit and friends!
We arrived at Norbury junction. We needed fuel and a pump out. There were 2 swan families having a turf war. I didn't catch it on camera but the 2 males were having a real set to. One family left soon afterwards. I guess because of the tourists feeding them, Norbury is the swan hotspot in summer!
The cygnets came looking for food. Dex wasn't amused!
There were lots of day boats coming back from their trip out. It was amusing watching them trying to moor.
We set off again, next stop Gnosall!
We managed to find a great mooring between the two canalside pubs. Kim and Marc would be joining us tomorrow until Sunday so I was excited about that.
