It was a lovely sunny day but freezing cold especially in the wind! But we were able to wrap up warm so no problem!
Before we set off we filled up with water and did some washing. It soon dries on the airer next to the stove!
We set off after lunch..
We were soon at the lock and Dex and I got off to open the gates and paddles.
We were soon through without any problems.
We were now back at the junction and turning right to get back on the Leicester section heading North.
We passed by this huge development which will be a massive Marina once finished.
Also passed by a smaller Marina.
I loved this boat called Paddington bear and the fact it's place name was Peru!
It was my turn to steer through the tunnel at Husbands Bosworth http://www.grandunioncanal.co.uk/Husbands-Bosworth-Tunnel.html
This time we went through without meeting any boats so it was nice and easy - phew! As we came out we could see another boat following behind.
It was so windy that Dex's ears were helping him do a Kate Winslet impression from Titanic! 😀
As the sun was getting lower the light was really beautiful.
We found a great spot in the open countryside and the sunset was really spectacular.
Stunning pictures again sweetie, you look like a little eskimo all wrapped up! Bet the evenings are cosy though once you have the log burner going xx
