Sunday 19th November
We had arranged to meet up with some friends for lunch back at Foxton locks so we left just after 9.30am. It was a lovely sunny crisp Autumn day. John walked back with Dex and I was left to steer.
The light was wonderful and the trees looked spectacular.
I was well wrapped up!
I picked John and Dex up after about 4 miles and we were then soon at the road swing bridge again.
It was my turn to operate the bridge. I was quite disappointed to find it was all manual and I had to struggle to open and close it on my own.
The final swing bridge is also one you have to push open by hand but luckily this one wasn't so heavy.
John turned the boat around so the hatch window faced the pub.
We just had time for a quick change before lunch.
We had a really nice time with old friends Miriam, Matthew, Breeje, PJ and Molly. So lovely to see them all and lunch was delicious too! They came to see Prairie afterwards and meet Dex! 😀
