Our walk started from the Wharf pub beside the canal. You took a woodland path through to the village.
There were some great old buildings.
We went past St Mary's church. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Mary%27s_Church,_Welford
We also went past the old chapel which is now Welford congregational church. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welford_Congregational_Church
We discovered an old pump by the side of the road which had been used by the parish since the 17th Century!
Soon we were headed along the Jurrasic way. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jurassic_Way
It was a beautiful day and we made the most of seeing the countryside.
Part of the Jurrasic way goes past Welford reservoir. Dex and I did this walk on a different day but the weather was still great!
It was shortly after we passed this field of cows that Dex had his unfortunate accident and got zapped by the electric fence! Bless him he yelped but no lasting damage thankfully!
