We set off early as needed to get to the boatyard to have the new fan fitted for the central heating. I walked with Dex and watched John turn the boat around. He really is an expert these days!
We were soon at the boatyard and only had to wait an hour to get the central heating up and running again - yippee! It cost £250 though so that was a bit painful but we didn't really have a choice..
Off again and it was really windy.
Dex's ears were flapping away!
It was along this stretch of canal that John's waterproof cap blew off and landed way back in the canal. We couldn't go back for it as it was far too windy, John was struggling to keep the boat in a straight line as it was. So had to say goodbye to the cap..as you can see John wasn't happy 😠
These rooks were having a fine time playing in the wind
We were approaching our chosen mooring for the night. We had to go over this aquaduct at Smeeton Westerby.
We passed Saddington outlet which is a feeder outlet from Saddington reservoir.
We managed to moor past these other 2 boats and it was a lovely scenic spot. Just got the hood up before it started to rain so that was lucky! Our nearest village was Smeeton Westerby. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smeeton_Westerby
