Runnymede memorials, Magna Carta, JFK & Airforce

Whilst we were moored in Egham we decided to check out the spot where the Magna Carta was supposed to have been signed. Runnymede was a short walk away and we found the spot, marked by some engraved chairs in a field. Wasn't quite what I was expecting! http://artatrunnymede.com/

From here it was a short uphill walk to see the JFK memorial http://www.kennedytrust.org.uk/

We then took another path across a field to find the Magna Carta Monument. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/runnymede/features/memorials-at-runnymede

From here we took a path which climbed up to the top of the hill and found the Commonwealth Airforces Memorial. No dogs were allowed in so John stayed with Dex whilst I took the opportunity to have a look around. It was worth a visit, very moving seeing all the names on the cloister walls, over 20,000 killed in action with unknown graves. I found a Brookes and a Cocking but have no idea if they are related! Also a Cohen, Kim & Marc! The views from the top were marvelous.
