Visit to Buttermere

Last night we went to see our friend Pete Leaver and had dinner at his house in Buttermere. It was a great evening, the food was totally delicious as Tony, Pete's son, is a chef and had kindly cooked for us. We had homemade meatballs which were amazing, in a delicious tomato based sauce with mustard mash and honey glazed carrots. This followed by the most wonderful rhubarb crumble ever served with Italian semifreddo which (if like me you haven't heard of before) is a kind of ice cream made with cream and eggs. All fabulous thanks Tony! We took Dex with us and he made a new friend, Sam the golden retriever. They had a great time playing in the garden. The views from the garden were fabulous.
