Anniversary walk 1st June

So yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary and it was a gorgeous sunny day. We decided to go for a long walk with Dex so took the towpath to Little Bedwyn and then crossed the railway line and walked up the hill to Chisbury chapel. The views from there were wonderful. We found a different footpath back to Great Bedwyn and crossed back over the canal at the lock. Dex enjoyed a quick paddle in the river. We went for lunch at the Three Tuns in Great Bedwyn which was really delicious. We both had the scotch egg which was cooked to perfection and served with celeriac mustard slaw. John had wild boar sausages with black pudding, mash, purple sprouting and truffle cream. I had sea bream on a bed of sweet potato, samphire, lentil and coconut. John had rhubarb, strawberry and mint crumble which was amazing and the fresh mint really brought out the fruit flavours. I had burnt vanilla cream which was a creamy creme brûlée with biscotti. All totally delicious. We then went back to the boat and opened the Bolly which we had been saving (thanks Anne and Roger!)
