Clifton Upon Dunsmore to Newbold

Wednesday 6th June

We had arranged to meet Cal for breakfast in his local cafe called the Canal lounge at Bridge 66. It was absolutely brilliant, delicious home cooked food, friendly and welcoming and they also had homemade cakes! 😀 We had the small breakfast with the addition of bubble and squeak as we both love it. It was pretty large anyway so glad we only asked for the small size!
We also took some drunken tiffin for later. That's a delicious biscuit and chocolate cake with dried fruit soaked in rum! Amazing 😀
After breakfast Cal gave us a tour of the mooring. There were some lovely Highland cattle in the field.

Soon it was time to move on. Our next mooring was at Newbold.
It didn't take long to get there and we managed to find a spot near to the Barley Mow pub. So we decided to have dinner there and ended up having lovely rump steak with all the trimmings for £8.95 a head!
