Another glorious day! I set off steering and John made his way to our first lock of the day, Dunn's lock.
We passed a lot of houses with lovely gardens backing onto the canal.
We soon arrived at the lock. John just opened one gate so he didn't have to cross over the lock gates.
One of the paddles was locked so John had to come back for the British Waterways key to unlock it.
Clearly some dredging had been taking place.
At the next lock a boat was stuck inside. Somehow a canal trust volunteer had locked the paddle and they couldn't unlock it. Luckily John was there with his key! I was able to pull in alongside them and share the lock.
We were able to lock share all the way to Kilby bridge.
This is the rubbish which had been collected from the canal bottom!
I was really pleased at my steering skills as I managed to get the boat through the right hand gate and position it on the left hand side of the lock!
We had a nice time lock sharing and chatting along the way.
I had to wait for this boat to come out of the lock before I could go in. I spoke too soon earlier about my boat steering skills as I lost control and nearly hit it!! Ooops!
We said goodbye to our lock sharers as they were going to stop at Kilby Bridge services.
Finally we reached our mooring for this eve at Kilby Bridge.
