Stony Stratford

We had to take Dex to get his bandage removed and I found a vet at Stony Stratford. We have the car back now having collected it from John and Maria's in Amesbury and enjoying a lovely lunch with them at their house. It was a quick visit as we had to get the hire car back.

Stony Stratford is lovely, lots of wonderful old buildings and had a really nice feel about it. John and I had a mooch around. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stony_Stratford

It has a number of hotels including the Cock Hotel and the Bull Hotel. The phrase "cock and bull story" is supposed to originate from here.

There were a number of charity shops and inside one of them was this amazing old oven with it's own story.

Everywhere we looked there were interesting buildings with their own stories to tell.

There was a lovely old Parish church in the centre, called St Mary & St Giles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Mary_%26_St_Giles_Church,_Stony_Stratford

We found some wonderful shops and other great looking buildings and interesting courtyards.

Then we found this amazing old church tower, all that is left of St Mary Magdalen church. http://www.magdalentower.co.uk/history.html

Nearby was St Paul's college http://www.mkheritage.co.uk/mkm/stonystratford/docs/fegan.html
