We have decided to sell Prairie and so will get her ready for sale. It has been a great adventure but with all the boat expense and things breaking we have decided it’s much too expensive to keep. Also the mooring fees are pricey and we don’t have a canal nearby in Wales. It’s a shame that we weren’t able to complete the whole system but we have done about half. With all the closures and the rivers going into flood it really isn’t easy to navigate the whole system and would probably take another 2 years to complete. So we have decided to call it a day and once she has sold we will start on a new adventure...thanks to all of you who have followed our journey and contributed to our blog. It has been a wonderful experience and great to have caught up with so many friends and family along the way. Here's to the next adventure! 😀

Wedding weekend and Back on board
We had a great time back home in Wales which finished with a wonderful long weekend away. We had a great family catch up with my brother John and family last Thursday and then celebrated Becca and Justin’s wedding on Friday 31st August. After that we had a lovely weekend in Eastleigh with Steph and Neil and their family. It was brilliant 😍
We came back on board on Tuesday 4th September. Not a great return as we were greeted with a foul stench coming from the fridge which I had left defrosting with the door open. The freezer compartment was so iced up I hadn’t noticed a small bag of chicken in the back which was now completely rotten and crawling with maggots 🙁 It was so disgusting. So spent an hour cleaning and disinfecting the fridge before we could unpack. John moved the boat back so it was nearer the bridge and easier for moving all our stuff onboard. However there was a problem with the throttle and we had no power. We managed to moor up but had to get on to Norbury boatyard to ask them to send out an engineer. Wednesday night we ran out of water! Luckily we had a spare plastic container with water to see us through. The engineer arrived on Thursday morning and did a quick fix to get us back to the boatyard where he was able to fix it properly. We filled up with water and got pumped out. Moored up at Norbury near the pub and had a nice meal there in the evening. Two main courses for £25 including a bottle of wine so not bad.
